Jeepin Junk

As told by Jeepin Junk:

We were kickin' ass on our way outta Darland in the spring. I was on the gas, but that god damned Atkins was pullin away from me. Or was it Blaine? Hell I don't remember...anyway I come hAUlin ass around the corner and there's a god damned ditch in the middle of the road. It musta been ten feet deep and eight feet across. Musta been from the runoff, why in the hell else would there be a damned ditch in the road? Anyway I don't even have time to think, I though "this is it" and I cobb the throttle. BAM! I lAUNch off that sucker, hit the other side so god damned hard that it launches me back up in the air. I figure my jeep is broke in half but it's stil goin' so I got back on the throttle and ya know what? That damned thing was gettin faster. I thought "hell I'm gonna catch em! Right on!"

Then it just sputters and dies. Dead. Right there in the middle of the goddamned trail. I get out and give it the once over but can't find anything wrong. I'm under the hood scratchin' muh head wondering what in the hell was wrong with that god damned thing. Everything looked good. So a few minutes later that god damned Brent...I think it was Brent...maybe it wasn't.....yeah, I remember it was Brent. Anyway that god damned Brent pulls up beside me (he was way behind us cause he drives slow) and says "HEY BILL! Theres somebody's gas tank just layin in the road upside down dumping gas about a mile back!!"

I've also heard a story of jeepinjunk doing Mach 80 with a missing link bolt, the link dragging on the ground, and the rear axle shifted over about a foot. No spare bolt could be found, so someone jammed a u-bolt in the hole and he proceeded to resume Mach 80.

Also spit the rear driveline out of the Rover too. This was very handy as I didn't have to crawl under it to remove the driveline from one end

This one I didn't drive out of!

I'll track down pictures later, but I can think of 2 broken 60 knuckles, 60 detroit, 60 front housing, fire at moon rocks, couple of 727 transmissions, Klune-V, dried up wheel bearings on Kaner, fire in the driveway and??? Problem is its all years old, so does I don't know if that's nomination worthy. And if you divide the breakage by the number of huge number of trail miles covered its a pretty low average, so it doesn't really stack up that well against the guys who ball up their junk everytime they take it out. :rtfm:
