Some pics of the motor going back together. 6.2 liter out of a 2010 Esclade with 27,000 miles. Decided  to throw in a few goodies before I throw it in.

Just some random mock up and fab pics

All of the structural tube is 1 3/4" x .120" wall dom
All of the interior lacing is 1 1/2" x .090" wall dom. And I found that for every foot of 1 1/2" I use instead of 1 3/4" I save about a half pound. 1 3/4" weight's 2.089 lb's per foot and 1 1/2" weight's 1.41 per foot. I will end up saving about 80 lb's when I am done. Not a lot but it all adds up.

Ya semi float. I have ran it for years with no problem's but time will tell. It has 35 spline Moser axles in. The pan is after market from Mast motorsports with baffle.

might wanna consider graphing full float spindles and hubs on it or going ff 14 bolt whatever is easier for you, stickys have a tendency of breaking stuff in the 39" and above flavor with the kinda jam you plan to be putting in that chassis. its nice to be able to pull some bolts carry a extra shaft and slam in and keep going on a wheelin weekend trip, particularly if you travel to wheel.

the mast pan looks really nice with the rock crawling baffle that anyseven off road did for them, I was considering that or the holley one. went with a kevko, it leaked due to piss poor welding and ended up with a f body stock pan with aftermarket baffle.

I am shooting for 108"wheelbase. 7"of up travel in the front with a 14" coilover. 8" of up in the rear with a 17" coilover. 2" bump's front and rear. Belly will be about 19" with 40's and the roof height will be about 5' 11". 54" wide at the A pillar and about 57"at the B pillar then the back dove's in to about 48".

If I have problems I will go full float. I am actually working on a trade right now for some 5 lug hub's for the rear.

Fuel tank placement. It's a 22 gallon with Walbro pickup's in all 4 corners.

Attached File  Build pic's 057.JPG   125.99K   25 downloads

I will end up building a skid under it. Trying to keep the center of gravity low as possible.
Attached File  Build pic's 087.JPG   136.64K   24 downloads
Some fuel tank mounting bracket's. They also hold my action packer from Swag Off Road.
Attached File  Build pic's 090.JPG   116.43K   23 downloads
Attached File  Build pic's 091.JPG   103.87K   25 downloads

I will have one on each side of the tank for storage. Another goal of mine is to keep everything organized. My last rig did not have any storage and shit got thrown were ever. Usually ended up broken or lost.

Do not have any plans to race. Just want a safe cell that I wont have to worry about.

This is a little better picture. Most of the tank is between the tires. Trying to keep the weight 50/50 front to back and this helps.
