Last year Big Country Customs had us make some shafts for the front 14 bolt in Roccos koh car. Thanks to Big Country for the diff picture.

Lately we've been getting more and more calls from people building building 14 bolts for front ends. This week we cut and splined a pair for Faster Horses Inc from Colorado. These are going under thier personal buggy.

We start with 4340 chromoly Dana 60 blanks from Yukon then cut them to length and turn them down to 14 bolt specs 1.545

14 bolts have a somewhat unique spline cut at 37.5 degrees versus the more common 45 and 30 degree found on most other axles and diffs.

I'm thinking of doing rear steering 14 bolt in the future, waiting to hear the results of people testing the torq 14 drop out. I may just cut up my current 14 with knuckles though, cool to know you did roccos stuff.

do you cut 300m shafts too? may go that route on rear shafts

Did you do the shave kit on yours? I did one last weekend for a friend it ended up 5 1/4" from centerline of axle to bottom of diff. And it only took a few hours. I was impressed with the gains

no just took a grinder to it to take 1" off the bottom, didn't think about any of the shave kits due to cost of turning a ring gear and welding in the bottom plate.

at the time the only kit out was the ballistic kit which I wasnt too big on the company way of during business at the time, not tmr and I think a few other offer kits. May go that route should I keep my housing and add inner C's

I have never cut any 300m shafts nor do I have a source of 300m material.

Contact Orange County Broach in California. If they can do it they can tell you what size it needs to be bored to before you send it down there.

For a one-off job like that in something hard like a spool I think you should be looking for someone to cut it with an EDM.

yup talked with someone who can do it with a EDM, ill be going 40 spline inners for rear steer when I can have all my parts in a row. biggest issue was finding someone to cut my spool or buy one already made.

didn't want an ARB

Thanks
