The best tech article, write up, or tip this week (we'll probably give you until Sunday the 19th) wins a Dead On Gear/Tool Bag! This bag works great for hauling your tools and gear around the trail with you. I've had one in my truck/jeep for several years and it is still in perfect shape!

To be eligible, the write ups must be posted in either the General 4x4 or Projects and Fabrication sections. If you have just a single post with a good tech tip, post it in this thread to be eligible: http://www.off-cambe...nd-shop-tricks/

We will keep a list going here, of who is in the contest. If you've posted up and don't see your name on here within the day, let me know! Good luck guys!

Here's my tip of the day. (Just for fun, doesn't have to count. Thought I'd make fun of my driving skills today. )

Removing Ford Ranger front corner marker.

First of all, there is no bulb in this piece of the headlight assembly, it is simply there to reflect light so you are visible.

Step one:  Go Jeeping!

Step two: Choose a bad line when going through trees.

Step 3: Try to squeeze through these trees in melting snow. (Hint: Make sure you're way too wide and the traction of the snow is not in your favor!)

Step 4: Think you're going to make it through the trees, ease ever so slowly, slide to either side, depending on which marker you would like removed.

Step 5: Hear the plastic break, stop, back up, go take a look at your work.

If done correctly, you should have a result similar to this:

Nice try, Nate! I don't think we're going to count that one as tech though!

In an effort to make this competitive, we've loosened the guidlines a little to also include build threads that started during contest period.

The finalists are:

Homeboy http://www.off-cambe...en3-gm-v8-lslq/

Rock Cruiser http://www.off-cambe...2-a-little-off/

Blaine http://www.off-cambe.../1896-new-plan/

Stromburg http://www.off-cambe...our-cj5-junior/

Since this was Mumblewood's contest, we're going to let him pick the winner! Stay tuned.......

And the winner is Homeboy! Congratulations!

I chose Homeboy because my original thought for the contest was something cool or useful you could do to a rig in a day, I do like and will keep reading the the other full builds though.

Thanks, I'll put it to good use and get my act together with my spare tools to keep in my buggy now instead of in my box at the trailer.
