Photo bucket won't load anything.   I have had nothing but problems with them in the past !     I tried the attach files on this site and it will not load anything .   I guess everyone will just need to use there imagination !

Hmmm, I use Photobucket all the time, loaded pics yesterday.

Just seems wrong to be putting a Honda motor in a buggy.   they do make some great hp# with basic turbo mods and don't weight hardly anything.

You get 6mo. into the build then you slowly start feeding pics? That's one option, the other is we have no social life so ever free moment is spent in the shop or web wheelin'. "Some of my best friends I've never met", I don't get too many free beers that way though. :)

I didn't start making any of the pieces until July 10th.  I do try and work on some part everyday i'm  around  even if it's only to drill some holes or line out the next days work.  I did spend 6 months collecting all the parts and getting a plan together. I don't feel like I work on it enough  along with all the long boating weekends and liver recovery! I guess sweating it out in the shop is a good thing.  I do plan on snow wheeling by December.

Been giving the internal beadlocks some more thought.   I'm thinking of building a larger version of a motorcycle rim lock like the ones used on big bore dirt bikes! I like the idea that they are all machanical and lock the tire to both sides of the wheel.   I think 3 per wheel will really lock the tire down. And shouldn't affect balance.   Anyone else have any words of wisdom?

I would think the would be big and heavy to work properly even made out of 6061. But I'm not saying you shouldn't try.
I did a quick generic mock up of a wedge like you are talking about using Solidworks, I'd guess around 2# each made from 6061, fitting inside a 8" rim width.

Yeah, but 3 lumps of metal just seems wrong. I'll be interested in seeing how you do with this, seems too obvious to have never been tried, but who knows. Lots of pics please.

anyone else going to be out on the Columbia River this Labor Day weekend?   Will be out on or 36 ft boat.   The bar is fully stocked, if the anchors down the bar is open!
I'll be at CB all weekend. What part of the Columbia and boat name?
