Started building a new rig a while ago. I have enough pictures to keep a build thread going for awhile. This is where I started.....

For 10 years I wheeled a CJ5 , Pro-jection 401, T-18, model 20, 60 rear 44 front, 4:88's, 37's.  It worked good but I was bored with doing any upgrades, I wanted to build something new.  The plan changed several times with different frame ideas and which mix of drivetrain parts.  The current plan is YJ frame, LQ9, T-18, 300 or Atlas, 44 ARB front 60 Detroit rear 4:88's 37's. Ive been watching JayW's thread for awhile, waiting for some cage updates.  I cant decide front to back or side to side cage design.

Front to back cage is best for sliding threw the trees.

Hopefully you're adding some wheelbase to that body/frame.

Wheel base has been set at 96" , the body will be stretched to fit.

I think front to back looks better and is easier to build.

So what's the plan for the rig. Be like a rimrock runner?

It's a jeep , the plan is to be all around rig set up for Liberty / Rimrock style wheeling, snow runs, beer runs, late night shenanigans and taking the wife to dinner.

My pictures all want to rotate like the frame picture when I try to upload. What's the best way to get them from my phone to here?  I have no idea how the tub picture loaded correctly.

I picked up a clean LQ9 out of some one else' abandoned project.  It came with a few extra parts, drive by cable computer and no wire harness. Attached File  IMG_0930.JPG   224.3K   16 downloads

These 1.75" longtubes came with the motor.  I tried them out but way too big for a jeep chassisAttached File  IMG_1385.JPG   142.88K   17 downloads

So I ordered these GTO headers but they were too wide and half the flange came down on the frame rail.  I sent them back and got a set of Sanderson block huggers.  They fit pretty good.Attached File  IMG_1510.JPG   180.85K   16 downloadsAttached File  IMG_1557.JPG   191.75K   17 downloads
