I heard the Hero3 black edition is worth the extra $100 bucks from somebody that uses them every weekend up in the WhitePass backcountry.

I have a contour Roam . I love it!!!  Small compact takes just as good vid as the gopros if not better .

I can't say I like some of the extreme fisheye ... at least not very much footage of it.

you can fix the fish eye problems the gopros have in most bigger name editing software. I've done it in adobe premiere

I actually like the moderate fisheye look from different angles of course.

I remember some of us talking about making something like this. I saw this on FB, and started thinking about what I could use to make one. I got my old broken Slik tripod out and 30 min. later, Walla!
Theirs extends from 17" to 40", mine from 12" to 36". Theirs cost $55, mine $0! Might be fun to get a different camera angle from the Jeep, If not, oh well, it didn't cost me anything.
