Separate seat and back heaters have sticky strips in the back. Run wires through a hole out the base.

Covers back on and secure wiring under seat.

Quick bracket for the 2 position switches. They have hi and low and work great! Hi is almost too hot for me and low is just right even through rain gear on a snow run.

Haven't gone anywhere yet. The only difference so far is they weigh about half as much as the old doetsch techs.

I have doetsch techs on mine and it rides like a brick. I also acquired a set of the same walker Evans you have from jeep48 but they're valved for a Cherokee so I need to learn how to revalve them or send them in

Jay that is some awesome work on your Jeep. I hope someday to have the skills to be able to do something like you just did. I love the old flatty's and really would like to get one someday. But would have to stretch it so I could get more leg room. With my bad leg I can't have it cramped up like a stock one would have me. Guess I got to decide if I want to keep putting money into my TJ or buy a Flatty and start over again.
Keep up the work I really like reading about it. I have the Walker Evans shocks too on my TJ too.

Well, I've been rough on the jeep lately. The model 18 tcase has been on its last leg for quite a while. Pops out of gear, front output loose, lots of noise. It took its last breath a couple weeks ago.

Going in will be a Scout Dana 300.......

Which will require a rear axle with a centered diff.

The wms started at 61.75". I wanted 58" to match the rear I have now but couldn't quite get there without buying new axle shafts. The shafts that came with this rear are cut-to-length and I was able to get narrowed to 59.25". I took 1" off the left and 1.5" off the right. Should be a good match with my 61" front.

Good to see this rear getting used. Did you build the alignment jig?

I built the pucks. The bar belongs to a friend, I just "store it" for him. 😀 Works for me.

What's the story on the rear? The BOM says one tube and center were from a 94 F350 and it looks like it had an air locker at one point but no sign of anything ever being welded to the tubes. ??

My brother built me one but I left it at the shop to long and they used it for something else.

Came from So Cal. Can't remember who built it but it should be a new housing and tubes if I remember right. A friend got it with a bunch of stuff in a trade.

First test drive with all the "new" items didn't go well. Lots of noise from the tcase lead to discovery of burned up gears and a shaft. My fault for not tearing it apart before install. It looked like someone ran it out of oil.

A full rebuild and replaced all the gears and a shaft, including the rare manual IH bull gear. 😁

Next test drive went only slightly better. Minor noise when coasting and lots of noise above 28mph. DPD diagnosed rear driveline angle issues and a test drive without it went smooth. So I started in undoing a lot of nice work to adjust for a cv in the rear.
