I looked at a Canon Rebel T3i. Seems like a pretty decent deal. Comes with 18-55mm IS, and 55-250mm IS Lenses, 8GB Class 10 SDHC Card, Canon Rebel Gadget Bag

It's at Costco for $879, and a $100 off coupon throught the 27th of this month. Anyone have thoughts on this camera?

Based on What I have found online for info, these 2 lenses would allow for a pretty wide range of photos I could take? The 18-55 is better for up close stuff, and the 55-250 will let me be further away and still get a decently close shot?

I think that sounds like a good deal.  And you can't go wrong buying electronics from costco :)

I don't think you can beat that deal! Unless you get really serious about photography, that should be all you need.

I agree, I've read lots of great things about the Rebel cameras.

I finally got a camera.. I ended up getting a Nikon D3200 with 2 lenses. First is an 18-55, and the second is a 55-200. I've been playing around with a bit and am really happy with the quality of pictures it takes. Anyone else have the same camera and a few tips or tricks to share to help with the learning curve?

I'm borrowing a D3100 from school for photo class. It's really nice. I like it a lot. I haven't used it enough for any tips, I'll let you know if I find anything useful.

I was looking at the 3100 but for the price it had 10 less mp than the 3200 and fewer frames per second.

I'm still messing with different settings on it, I am really liking it so far. I'll get some posted.
